Nice set of links here (courtesy of Ken Robson), covering VMware, Xen, Microsoft, hardware issues, Solaris Zones, Linux VServer, grid computing, and some of the academic work in the area. But he spelled "virtualization" wrong :-).
Regarding critical and non-critical applications, is it best to mix the critical apps around on different platforms or is it best to have them on in a single critical application platform group?
I was also wondering also about any common known problems patching dissimilar servers residing on the same platforms? SQL servers and fileshare servers for example.
